Lumpkin Literacy Adult Spelling Bee

The major fundraiser for Lumpkin Literacy is our Annual Adult Spelling Bee set for September 24th, 2015, at the historic Holly Theater in downtown Dahlonega, Ga.

What is the Adult Spelling Bee?

A night of laughs, some really unusual on-stage antics, and truly funny attempts at spelling difficult words - that's the Bee, a once a year event, hosted by Lumpkin Literacy.

The winning teams were Crimson Tide from the Sunrise Rotary, and  Heavenly Host , sponsored by  St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church. Pictured with the winning teams is local folk artist Billy Roper, creator of "Mr. Bee" , the coveted sculpture which is proudly displayed by the sponsor of the winning team for the year.
